Distinguished Writer Series Spotlights Timothy Walsh

Wordsmith Timothy Walsh will be the featured artist in the Distinguished Writer Series at King’s Books on June 8 at 7 pm. Walsh’s poems and short stories have been published to wide acclaim. His awards include the Kurt Vonnegut Fiction Prize from North American Review and the Grand Prize in the Atlanta Review International Poetry Competition. He is the author of a book of literary criticism, The Dark Matter of Words: Absence, Unknowing, and Emptiness in Literature (Southern Illinois University Press) and two poetry collections, Wild Apples (Parallel Press) and Blue Lace Colander (Marsh River Editions). He is an Assistant Dean at the University of Wisconsin – Madison.

The Distinguished Writer event will be followed by an Open Mic session; sign-up is at 6:45 pm. Open to all poets, Open Mic takes place the second Friday of every month at King’s Books.
