Arts and culture are essential to Tacoma’s renaissance and continued growth. The City of Tacoma nurtures its creative ecosystem providing many opportunities for residents and visitors to access and participate in the arts.

In addition to supporting artists and arts organizations through funding, public art, programming, and policy, the Office of Arts & Cultural Vitality works collaboratively with strong partners and allies to build the creative economy by leveraging resources and talent to further benefit our community in innovative and dynamic ways.

The City’s investments in arts and culture have far-reaching impacts on our community; here’s an overview of what was accomplished in 2016:
