WHO: Musical performers Tim Strong, Karen Oleson, and Pamela Ryker
WHAT: Life Reflections, a free concert of international music
WHERE: Schneebeck Concert Hall, University of Puget Sound
WHEN: Saturday, June 23 at 4 pm

This is our favorite kind of summer salad: a delicious free concert including a mix of classical and modern works for piano, soprano, and flute performed by the Community Music Department of the University of Puget Sound (UPS) this Saturday.

The afternoon performance will feature UPS faculty member and alumnus Timothy Strong on piano and guest artists Karen Oleson, soprano, and Pamela Ryker, flute. Strong describes the program as an eclectic mix of music dealing with “life reflections,” both serious and humorous.

The bill showcases works by an international roster of composers: Edvard Grieg, George Gershwin, Kurt Weill, Alberto Ginastera and Nikolai Kapustin; plus a selection of local composers.

Timothy Strong, piano, has performed nationally in both solo and ensemble capacities. He has served on the faculty at University of Puget Sound’s Community Music Department for more than two decades.

Karen Oleson, soprano, has sung with the Seattle Opera and performed in musical theater throughout the Puget Sound area and beyond.

Pamela Ryker, flute, is an accomplished professional musician and teacher of flute. She is the artistic director of the series Classical Tuesdays in Old Town in Tacoma.

Enjoy this irresistible concert presented by three talented local musicians! Find more information here.
