It’s time for the Tacoma Community College (TCC) Clay Club Sale this weekend! Maybe you crave the artistry of a hand-built clay vessel or object as we do – clay has a solidity and beauty that beckons us to touch it, pick it up and admire the potter’s personal touch. It also offers our eyes, given to staring at a computer screen hour after hour, an easy place to rest…You’ll find original clay art at amazing prices at TCC this weekend!
This year, the event is moving from the TCC art gallery to the Building 11 Student Center; the sale will be held in the Senate Room. “There has been talk of donating some of the monies to the Japan Pottery relief fund to help potters who had their kilns destroyed in the earthquake and tsunami,” says art instructor, Rick Mahaffey. Proceeds will also support the Clay Club fund. Hours: Friday, May 4, 9 am-7 pm (opening reception is 4-7 pm); Saturday, May 5, 10 am-2 pm. For map and directions, click here.
